Very rare black glass ale bottle synonymous with the California Gold Rush. This was made for a company that set up at the eastern end of the Panama railroad (in what is now called Colon, but was then called Aspinwall) during the California gold rush to cater to the prospectors and fortune seekers traveling to California. Although we think of settlers migrating to California via horse an wagon, in reality, the majority travel by boat to Panama then back up the coast on another boat (which was substantially safer).Fantastic and rare piece of Golf Rush history and a bottle that rarely comes available! Perfect condition with the original foil still around the neck. Great character to the glass with lots of crudity and whittle.
