This is an authentic 1880s label under glass Tincture Hyoscyamus bottle with its original ground glass stopper.... In black letters on white background with red border label under glass cover on front of bottle in sunken square panel.... 7 1/2"tall (8 1/4"with stopper).... Original ground glass stopper fits perfect and comes out just fine. Bottle is in sparkling near mint condition with no chips or damage of any kind. A nice clean bottle with no haze. Hyoscyamus was a plant used to treat pain and insomnia and as a local anesthetic. In the Middle Ages, the use of hyoscyamus was associated with witchcraft, and later was used as an anesthetic..
