The blob seal reads Thos. Dunkin & Son, Bordeaux, Champagne, Cognac, and has a small chip as shown in the photo. It is made of deep green glass, usually known as black glass by bottle -lovers. This bottle has been dated to the Civil War era, 1860 to 1870, by the Society for Historical Archeology website. It measures about 11.5" tall, 3" diameter.
This old bottle came from a bottle-hunting expedition in Cinchona Gardens in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, in 1972. I personally retrieved the bottle from a colonial-era picnic area and I have had it in my personal collection since then. Please review all photos and enjoy the special quality of this antique glass.
