Antique Sun Purple APOTHECARY Glass Label BOTTLE, POT. Wonderful antique pharmacy or apothecary sun purple glass jar measuring 9-1/2" in height and 3" square. Featuring a mold blown square jar with rounded edges, original stopper seats neatly into the collar and both are ground -- it is decorated with the old glass label marked POT.

(for Potassium Iodine), accented in gold with black lettering on a cream ground. Bottle condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, discoloration or damage -- a bit of wear underneath the glass label as shown and a small straw mark within the inside of the lid as shown - does not detract a bit - interior has no staining or content residue.

Color is an amazing soft purple - created from the manganese in the glass being exposed to the sun - this is the result of time and exposure, not artificially created. Guessing this came from an old apothecary or pharmacy around the San Jose area of California. Just a wonderful antique bottle - it has an awesome look!
