Ca 1735 black glass English mallet from Virginia

  
Here's a nice English mallet that I have had over 25 years. Bought it from a collector in Virginia who excavated it there. It stands 8 and 1/2 inches tall by almost 5 inches in diameter. It has a very deep kickup. Has a 3/8 inch wide chip on the mouth but the string rim is perfect.

Has the expected ground stains. These early excavated bottles found in America are very hard to come by. I have added some new photos that I took with another camera, these photos can be enlarged, the old photos are still there...
