THIS RARE HARD TO FINE, CIRCA EARLY 1700'S TRUE ENGLISH ONION, WAS DUG ON AN OUT ISLAND OFF THE FLORIDA KEYS, BACK IN THE 1960'S, AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, WITH NO CHIPS, BRUISES, FLASHES, STAINS, POT STONES, OR CRACKS. IT DOES STILL HAVE SOME INTERIOR DIRT STAINING, ENTRAPPED BUBBLES, , AND WHITTLE THROUGHOUT THAT GIVES THIS WINNER REAL CHARACTER.
IT STANDS 7 3/8" HIGH FROM THE 5 1/4" ACROSS SAND PONTILED, AND DEEPLY INDENTED BASE, UP TO THE HAND APPLIED, AND FASHIONED, THICK OVERLAPPING STRING LIP. AS SHOWN, IT IS REALLY A NEAT WINE ONION. CAN YOU IMAGINE SERVING YOUR GUESTS WINE OUT OF THIS 300 YEAR OLD PIECE OF HISTORY, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I DO.
