Here is a great rarity; a large blown Russian glass 18th century case bottle with an applied seal. Beautiful light emerald glass with lots of tiny seed bubbles and striations of golden amber that appear blue in reflected light (see photos)! Made by the German half-post method. The second gather is right up to the neck's base.

Nice crude applied and tooled lip. Base has a 1 kick-uo with open pontil. About 11" tall x 5" across the base. The applied seal bears the Cyrillic initials "PK" in script. We have not identified it as yet.

Some research may prove very interesting. Truly outstanding condition with only some inner stain. Exterior has full surface gloss with a lovely soft gloss patina (bloom). This appears to be a river find and there is still traces of river mud around the seal and around the pontil scar. The bottle has lots of character with the seed bubbles, striations and whittle and will make a fine addition to any advanced collection of early black glass.

Note: This may be the only intact example of the rare bottle. We corresponded with a collector in Russia years ago that had another that he believed to be the only example. It was probably manufactured at the Orlov Royal Glass House. Please be patient when inquiring or ordering.

I can only access the internet about twice a week and get to the post office about once a week.
