For sale we have a scarce or rare complete original Label Under Glass Pre Prohibition Ginger Whiskey Fifth Style Liquor Back Bar Bottle. This bar bottle has the original chain and closure with three quarters of the original cork present. The label is large taking nearly the entire front of the bottle. The design enclosing word ginger has a definite Art Nouveau look with a spade looking design. We date this bottle to the late 1880's to the 1890's era.
We have not seen this Back Bar bottle before and feel it's a very scarce or rare example. The label under glass is in great overall original condition with no issues or damage. We just see a small area of a deeper shade of gold in the upper right hand side of the label.
The label is very bright and crisp with no alterations or touch ups. The label is very secure an still attached very snuggly. The top and lip are tooled.
This is a heavy made bottle for incidents that could happen at the bar. This is a excellent survivor form the wild era before Prohibition.
This is a fresh to market example in untouched condition. The condition is very nice with no chips, cracks deep scratches or scuffs. We see no staining or alterations. This bottle has not been dug or cleaned. We only see when examined in strong light a lite thin usage scratch or two and some base wear that we mention for accuracy.This is a nice early original untouched example in excellent untouched complete original condition. This would make a great addition or upgrade to a Back Bar or Label Under Glass Collection. These are getting very difficult to find in this excellent complete original condition with no issues to the label or the bottle. 12 7/8 with the closure and approx.
