RARE 18th CENTURY BLACK GLASS ENGLISH BLADDER WINE BOTTLE
Here is a rare early 18th century (C 1710 - 1720) black glass English bladder wine bottle. This is a superb early example in very deep olive-amber glass. Exceptional squat form and beautiful crude black glass. About 8 tall and very near mint! Only a small lip flake. It is a lovely early crude example. The base is somewhat irregular so it will rock when on a glass shelf and has a backwards or forwards lean. (We usually put a small piece of gray modeling clay on the base of our rockers). Deep base kick-up with large pontil scar. A stunning rare beauty that is almost impossible to find these days! The last one of these I had was no where near this nice and had a matte finish as it was a river find.
Please be patient when inquiring or ordering. I can only access the internet about twice a week and get to the post office about once a week.
