Superb J Pitfield 1784 Black Glass Sealed Squat Cylinder Wine Bottle Dorset

  

This superb dated squat cylinder wine bottle measures approx. 9 Inches in height and 4.5 Inches across the base. PITFIELD 1784 and it is in excellent originally condition and with a full body gloss. There is a small burst air bubble next to the seal and an inclusion in the glass at the rear shoulder. Accordingly to Burton's superb book on the subject an example is recorded in the Poole Museum and the surname is popular in the Dorset region making the conection to Dorset highly likely.
